Hewlett Packard (HP) and Microsoft have launched a joint initiative designed to simplify and accelerate organizations’ transition to private cloud computing. The following cloud computing solutions form the foundation of this effort.

HP and Microsoft Private Cloud Solutions

This solution is built for fast implementation and reduced risk and now integrates with Windows Server 2012, System Center 2012 Service Pack 1 (SP1), and HP Converged Infrastructure.
This jointly engineered RA is optimized for Microsoft SQL Server and designed to simplify the entire IT stack into a unified database platform for easier management, provisioning, and chargeback.
For environments of 50 to 500 users, the HP Departmental Private Cloud reference architecture (RA) combines HP and Microsoft best practices for virtualization and private cloud deployment and is optimized for Windows Server 2012.
These reference configurations are validated and optimized to contain all the necessary ingredients for a virtualized IT environment.
This jointly designed, factory-integrated solution, based on the Microsoft Private Cloud Fast Track RA, couples HP Converged Infrastructure with Windows Server 2012 with Hyper-V and Microsoft System Center. Integrated products and services include HP ProLiant Generation 8 servers, HP Converged Storage, and HP Flex Networking. Shared pools of interoperable resources are managed through System Center and HP Insight Control. Three versions are available to meet the performance, reliability, and management needs of organizations ranging from SMBs to enterprise customers.
The Microsoft private cloud solution, built on Windows Server and System Center technologies, enables pooled resources, self-service, elasticity, and usage metering. The Microsoft Private Cloud Fast Track RA, a joint effort between Microsoft and its hardware partners, provides the flexibility and control that organizations need to realize all the benefits of the private cloud.
The Microsoft System Center management solution supports IT as a Service by enabling productive infrastructure, predictable applications, and cloud computing with a common management toolset. HP Insight Control integrates with System Center to provide tools for managing server, storage, and networking infrastructure.
The most recent Windows Server OS is “built from the cloud up”, offering a scalable, dynamic, multitenant-aware, cloud-optimized infrastructure.
